The End of an Era – Farewell to our Cessna 206, MRK

The team at Flinders Island Aviation is sad to say we have reached the end of an Era. Last Wednesday, Flinders Island Aviation pilot Zack delivered our beloved Cessna 206 MRK to Moorabbin in preparation to be delivered to a potential new owner. MRK is the longest serving member of the Flinders Island Aviation team and represents the evolution of this business over the last 20 years. The Furneaux Field and Game Association is holding its bi-annual Furneaux Super Shoot on the weekend of 9th-10th September 2017. The two-day event promises to be action packed, and a number of prizes are up for grabs including the possibility to win a new gun. Save the Devils Field Trip

Flinders Island Aviation Services has been working in support of the Save the Tasmanian Devil program for some years, and as a result, we were lucky enough to be invited on a field trip with the Save the Tasmanian Devil team. Matt and Zack travelled to the Mount William National Park to meet up with Save the Tasmanian Devil program manager, Dr David Pemberton and Nadeen Burge from the public relations team. Save the Devils!

Earlier this year Flinders Island Aviation Services proudly supported the Save the Tasmanian Devils Program in their quest to translocate healthy, vaccinated Tasmanian Devils from Maria Island to Musselroe. Today the Manager of the Save the Devils Program, Dr David Pemberton announced the “persistence” or survival of all of the relocated Devils some three months on. Flinders Island Aviation Services has been supporting this important program for some years.
